Below are some frequently asked questions relating to the features, functions and requirements of Cell Cease™.
1. How will I know I received a phone call or text message?
Incoming phone calls will be sent directly to your voice mail. All notifications that your phone normally provides you for missed calls and awaiting voice mail will still work the same. Your missed text messages can be viewed through the CellCease™ program.
2. Can selected callers be indentified if they call?
If you subscribe to caller ID, then yes.
3. Can I select phone numbers that won’t be blocked?
Yes, Cell Cease™ allows for the entry of allowed callers. Calls to or from a number on the Allowed Callers List can be made at any time.
4. If one of my select callers changes his number, what do I do?
The Allowed Callers List can be edited and changed.
5. Can I speed dial selected phone numbers while moving?
If both the speed dial number and the full phone number are on the Allowed Callers List.
6. What happens to my cell when I am in public transportation?
Cell Cease™ is not currently able to tell whether you are in public or private transportation.
7. Will other phones in my car be blocked when my phone is blocked? Does my phone block other phones?
Cell Cease™ will not interfere with any other telephone in any way at any time.
8. How is battery life affected?
Depending on conditions, battery life may be impacted by as much as 20%.
9. What happens if the battery dies while I am blocked?
When your phone is recharged and turned back on, Cell Cease™ will operate normally. It doesn’t matter whether you were blocked or not when you lost signal or power.
10. Can the Cell Cease™ program be deactivated?
Cell Cease™ may be uninstalled by those possessing the proper PIN.
11. What happens if I start a phone call and then start driving?
As soon as you exceed about 5 miles per hour, your conversation will be blocked.
12. Does the person who calls me have a way to leave a message, or send a text message?
Absolutely, Cell Cease™ does not interfere with this in any way.
13. Is there a record of who called me when I am driving and the Cell Cease™ program has blocked the call?
Yes.
14. Can I code a text message while stopped and send it while moving?
No. Sending or receiving text messages while moving is blocked by Cell Cease™.
15. Can I call 911?
Absolutely! Access to 911 is never affected by Cell Cease™.
16. Can 911 call me?
Absolutely! Access to 911 is never affected by Cell Cease™.
17. Is there a way to know if a special number has called in and I can pull over to answer?
Any Number in the allowed callers list will be passed through. Cell Cease™ recommends that you pull over and come to a complete stop for all calls.
18. Will this program really help my child?
Yes.
19. What have you done to keep a teenager from disabling the Cell Cease™ system?
Cell Cease™ starts automatically whenever the phone is turned on. Any alterations to the Allowed Callers List or to CellCease™ itself requires the use of a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Only people whow have the PIN may make any changes.
20. What if my phone fills up with text messages while I am driving?
Text messages take very little memory to store. For a typical text message of 200 characters, a modern cell phone would be able to hold at least 1 million text messages before there was any danger of the phone becoming full.
21. Can I use Cell Cease™ on any phone.
No. Cell Cease™ is designed for mobile phones that have a built in GPS and utilize the Windows Mobile® operating system.
